More About the Liver
A healthy functioning liver is important to our bodies and overall good health. Our livers are responsible for so much that we absolutely must become more aware of how to keep it healthy. Our livers break down all our foods, cleanses the toxins in our bodies, processes all of our sensory input, and is our heat-furnace. It’s the only organ in the body that can regenerate.
Our livers are extremely abused in our society, and adding Dulse to your daily nutritional intake can play an important role in helping to heal our bodies and liver.

Cellular Healing

Sea vegetables present these essential nutrients to your body in a chelated, colloidal optimally balanced form so they are bio-available; that is, your body “understands” how to absorb and utilize them. Major minerals examples are:

  • Calcium (for skeletal health, healthy heartbeat, nervous system function)
  • Magnesium (activates enzymatic activity, essential for healthy heartbeat)
  • Potassium (naturally prevents high blood pressure, provides cellular energy)
  • Sodium (essential for the correct balance of body fluids — our internal “ocean”)
  • Iron (as hemoglobin, transports and distributes oxygen to all your cells)

Cooking with Dried Herbs

Dried Herbs
Dried Herbs

Fresh herbs are fun to play with, but they can intimidate some new cooks. Using dried herbs are a good second choice, just remember that they should be added earlier in the cooking process so they can begin to rehydrate and release their flavors.
Be sure to crush/grind herbs or if you don’t have a tool to crush them,   you can rub dried herbs between your thumb and forefinger or between the palms of your hands before adding them to your pot or pan to give the herbs a boost of energy and to help the herbs release their oils and fragrances. Fresh herbs should always be added toward the end of cooking to enjoy their full flavor effect because they are more fragile;
